Actually he was quite perky but he was looking down intently for worms. His bad-hair-day-look is because he has moulted and these are new shafts. Enlarge it to see more clearly.

A friend called Sarah is going to join me at the allotment and share my plot. Hopefully she will have lots of good ideas and energy to carry them out.
I picked beetroot, broad and runner beans, swiss chard, courgettes, loads of blackberries, scrumped fallen plums, dug up all the strawberry plants but kept some runners and planted loads of leeks. Enough for one day 'cos I now feel like this robin looks!
