We were on a walk which took us along the shore of Thirlmere then up and along the lower fell side on the east of the reservoir. It was on this latter section that we came upon these two posts. They provide a frame for Skiddaw in the background.

Earlier this year I was driving past and parked to take some (not very good) photos of a helicopter lifting loads up into that area. There are now new fences going way up the fell side, lots of tree planting, and these two posts nowhere near any other fence line.

Bit of a mystery, but I think they make a good blip.
