Gossip from the forest

A busy morning at a local art show, held in sheep pens. A nice touch to have swallows swooping over your shoulder as you browse.

On holiday in the heat I read Sara Maitland's new book, Gossip from the forest: the tangled roots of our forests and fairytales. It transported me from the bright vivid colours of a Gran Canarian poolside to the cool dappled shade of a British forest and was utterly engrossing. This evening it was good to reconnect with my local woodland.
