........what's in a name?..........
As I was leaving the house this morning to go fishing the Boss asked....."And where are we off to today?"........"Nooky Hollow", I answered....she smiled.......and then goggled and said " Oh you are,are you? I thought you were fishing!"
I have no idea why the lake is called Nooky Hollow.......the other lakes at the venue are Scot's Pine lake...because there are Scot's Pines on the island...........Big Match lake....self explanatory....and Benson's Creek .....named after a deceased pet dog.....so why Nooky Hollow?
And that set me thinking about places in this country that I have visited, passed through or spotted on road signs........how did they get their names...and more importantly....why haven't they changed them?

The photo has nothing to do with strange names...I was just stuck for a blip tonight...then I saw something about the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow...and that made me think....and then I took the photo.
