This very experienced hardwood chair ATTACHED itself to my wife's posterior while looking for silver utensils at the Salvation Army thrift store and wouldn't release her. Apparently it was quite the struggle to drive home...

Long story short(er); it reeked of stale smoke. I couldn't even stand it outside on the porch. So she decided to refinish it.

This was over a year ago. After trying to strip the varnish (FAIL), and sand it off (WAY TOO HARD), a color was decided upon (after multiple coats of odor killing primer.). Admittedly, I'm starting to make some insistent noises about charging rent for workshop space. It's working! Look: she's painting!

Maybe we'll be able to bring Carol's THIRD rocking chair into the house soon... Keep painting, sweetie!
