Sea Lavendar

Walking along the salt marsh, looking for some bird life to photograph, I came upon this sea lavender. It is just starting to bloom.
The locals harvest it and make small wreaths and heart shaped wreaths for decorations.
It does not smell like regular lavender, it smells like salt water.
