August 17, 2013 ~ Red Shouldered Hawk

Today's challenge was supposed to be "at the movies", but on the way to our camera club picnic I spotted this beautiful hawk.

Not ever having seen or photographed this kind of bird before, I was not sure what he was. But after looking it up in our bird book I have tentatively identified him/her as a red shouldered hawk. If anyone can verify that for me, I would be very appreciative.
