S is for SUNSHINE, SHADOWS and SKY
I wanted to do an "outdoor" blip for the ALPHABET CHALLENGE today so looked out and saw the shadows on the grass in our garden where the sun was peeping through the cherry tree. Not much colour at the moment, but we love our garden. Mr. HCB spends more time out there than I do and is more interested in growing vegetables and fruit and pottering in the greenhouse, but I enjoy looking after the flowers and when the grass is cut and the edges trimmed, it looks good - not perfect, but good enough for us!
Was thinking that for many of us, life is very much like this, some SUNSHINE, then maybe some SHADOWS and you will see in the SKY some dark clouds - but there is also some blue sky, which gives us hope. There is always hope, which means "to expect with confidence", and as in the garden, when our plants come to the end of their growing season, we cut them back, we hope and are confident there will be new growth next year so that we can enjoy their beauty again.
So, for my many friends who are going through difficult times there is an old Maori proverb which says:
Turn your face toward the sun and the shadows will fall behind you.
Not always easy to do, but I pray the sun will shine on you today and if I can help in some small way, then believe me, I will.
The Angel told Mary, "…..You will conceive and give birth to a SON, and you will name him Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the SON of the Most High….."
Luke 1 : 30-31
