West Coast National Park
Today we travelled up the west coast where we hoped to see some of the wild flowers which people from around the world flock to see during August and September. We had a fairly good view - the best places are further up the coast and inland.
This park comprises some 32 000 hectares and encompasses the beautiful Langebaan Lagoon, wetlands with incredible birdlife, rare fynbos, and white sandy dunes.
One can expect to see carpets of flowers as far as the eye can see, in bright orange, blue, mauve, white and more.
This photo was taken at the entrance of the park. Tha lagoon is visible in the
background.
