JP was in town this weekend and Sunday prepared what he described as a traditional trinidadian dinner. he presented us with a large pot of sort of delicious chicken stew but was elusive as to what exactly it was flavored with. "seasoning" he kept saying, referring to the thick, green paste he spooned generously into the pot. whatever it was, it was tasty. i broke out an old bottle of wine i had been saving for a special occasion. i figured the five of us sitting around a table, eating dinner was special enough.
