Wedding day
Today is Veronica and rogers wedding day.
We had breakfast with a few of the wedding party this morning. Some more blurry eyed than others. I'm regretting us being one of the last men standing last night.
After breakfast we had a power nap til 12pm. By the time we had both showered and changed we had to get a trot on to catch up with the wedding party at the registry office.
Their registry office is nothing like our local council establishments. This is truly stunning inside and out. Veronica looks like a 50's or 60's film glamour puss. Very Keira knightly wedding ensemble. Absolutely beautiful.
The service was carried out in Czech by an also very glamorous registrar and then translated into English.
The ceremony lasted a good half an hour although if did fly by.
Or maybe that was the Czech spirit we consumed in the square - apparently it's tradition - I think it should have had a health warning. I've had some shots in my time but I really thought I had done serious damage to my pipes on the occasion.
The wedding party strolled back through the streets to our hotel for the reception. We firstly had champagne and nibbles on the roof garden terrace. Followed by a two course meal in the basement. Back up to the terrace for more sweet nibbles and champagne followed by dancing and cake cutting.
More platters of good arrived around 10pm - a free bar kept the dancing and banter continued into the early hours - a small group going to a few bars and clubs til 5am.
Husband and I wimped out way before then but we have thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful day, location, scenery, different cultures and traditions.
