We started the day with a visit to La Coupole, a fascinating and very moving place which was due to be the site of mass V2 rocket launches in the second World War. Exhibitions at the site tell the story of the development of these weapons and the occupation of Northern France. It does not shy away from telling the moving stories of many of the victims and survivors.

Son #1 found it fascinating and I think it hit the right note with him, that war is not to be glorified and that many of the victims are innocent civilians.

We camped at Wissant for the night and spent some time walking along the massive beach in the fading sun. A lovely spot and one that I would go to again.
