Nice light this morning for photographing daisies in the garden. Went out in M's dressing gown and slippers and got both covered in dew. Hmm. Off to work to try and get a decent portion of a report done. Managed to slippy-shoulder a couple of sections and a map, so it progressed better than I expected. By the time lunchtime came around I could afford to head to town and pop a film in for processing, and buy a new pair of black pumps for work that actually fit me.
M got home long before me, and we made Spanish chicken for tea from the Hairy Dieters cookbook. Mmmh! Mum and Dad are coming up on Saturday for two nights (we're meeting in Edinburgh to do the Fringe on Saturday morning), and I have my work's summer BBQ tomorrow night. I did a bit of tidying in preparation, then showered and started on the immense task of washing and straightening my thick frizzy hair. It's getting long now, and it takes just over an hour and a half from start to end (if I work quickly with no distractions). I've started to notice that I end up leaning on my hair when I sit up in bed, and it gets trapped under M when he rolls over in the night. Potentially time for a cut!
Later, we watched a bit of Masterchef before bed and had our usual lollipops (a box of 1.2kg from Sainsbury's gets you 4 x rocket rip-offs , 4 x fruit pastille rip-offs and 12 x lemonade/cherryade/coke flavoured lollies... We've got into the habit of eating on a night)! Bed early, M has slept in every day this week and has only got away with it so far because the kids are still on holiday and the roads are dead in the mornings.
