Crook Hall.
We had a trip to Durham today, to visit Crook Hall. We've talked about going for quite a while, but never got round to it, but I heard it mentioned on our local radio station, yesterday, and that jogged our memories.
It is a beautiful place, just five minutes walk from the centre of Durham. Built in the three parts, the medieval hall in 1208, the Jacobean Mansion in 1671, and the Georgian house in 1720.There are so many nooks and crannies, with something to see around every corner, but we did not bump into the resident ghost.
The gardens were wonderful. They each have their own histories. Some have been here for centuries, and others are more recent additions..
We ended the morning with lunch in the courtyard. A morning well spent.
