Look Up!!

I looked up yesterday and discovered a twin town plaque I'd never noticed before despite walking beneath it too many times to mention.

Today I was leaving St Andrew's House which is usually a confused scurry of file juggling, last minute instructions and 'which car is here for me?'. It doesn't normally involve looking up but it did today - my last attempt not to have to resort to the garden.

I must have seen this monument thousands of times! But I've never really 'seen' it before today. It positively looms above St Andrew's House. It is of course the Nelson Monument. Did you know that? If I'd been asked I probably would have said it was the Observatory. Oh, the ignominy :-)
