La Vezere

La Vezere, a looping ancient river which curls around the cliff caves inhabited by early civilizations in the Dordogne region 14,000 years ago. We had a cooling canoe in the shadow of the towering limestone hillsides, drifting for nine miles amid clouds of damsel flies. A lovely afternoon.
