I was a bit blip-weary in that all I could see were loads of great photo opportunities that I didn't have the technical know-how to do justice to. I think what I need to get (aside from some patience about how long it will take to master the technical bits of photography) is that you need to be motivated/inspired by the photos you take, rather than what you think you should take. However, like most things (and writing is a good example of this) you initially imitate what you like until you discover your own voice, or in this case - eye.
