New toy

Although I've not done much Audio-Visual work, I have always enjoyed AVs and always fancied doing some more. I have recently been inspired by a magazine article about a photographer who combines his informal wedding photographs with sound recorded at the event (including speeches, etc). The results are superb.

In a good AV presentation, sound is at least as important as the pictures and, apart from music, good location sound is so helpful in telling the story. If you visit somewhere it is helpful to have a recording of the sounds at that place - crowds passing by, the noise of a market place, the church bells, etc. So I have now invested in a fairly cheap, but very portable and surprising good quality digital sound recorder. Now to start playing with it!
