Wanderlust festival

An epic day.

Crashing at a friend of Brian's, rising up with the morning and cooking up a magnificent breakfast of eggs and toast with everything we could think of thrown in. Spending most of the day kayaking out on the lake, far past the shoreline crowds to boulders strewn across the waters surface jutting out from a small peninsula. Lounging on the rocks and paddling out into deep pools to swim. The day is perfect and the water temperature is just right. Before paddling in we dived off the highest boulder, Brian misjudging his dive and ending in a ridiculous bellyflop. The local kids gasping in unison, Brian doing his best to hide his embarrassment. Priceless.

Pulling the curtain on the day with music late into the night. We're here for Wanderlust festival, a new festival dedicated to good folk-indie-rock-world music lined up side by side with yoga. Topped off by being set in Squaw Valley high up in the Sierra Nevada overlooking Lake Tahoe. Like I said, epic. Luck must have been with us because just on arrival we scored a free ticket! Catching the last couple acts of the night and they were ragers. Blasting out sound and soul and funk. A circus of dancers, fire eaters, punk rockers, trance freaks, hipsters, yogis, and hippie dippie California girls. A sight to behold.

I had a difficult task choosing a shot for today. So many good ones to choose from, each with a different mood. I settled on this one. Dark, chaotic, brooding, mysterious, like some pagan ritual of old unraveling deep in the midnight hour....
