Tea rooms... Depressing places
Today my mum was bored so we decided to go for a good old brew somewhere. I fancied a good drive and suggested Windermere. Hastily... But rightly so Father reminded us it would be packed full of those 'tourist' things, which I hate. 'Oh, that's a nice pavement... Lets take a picture.' No, let's not. Just let me commence on my journey to work/town/friends house... You get my drift! Anywho... We ended up in Sizergh Farm Shop, that is here pictured. Upon arrival my Mother insisted on having a brew; so we retreated to the tea room. I must point out, I feel a distinct difference between a tea room and a cafè. Cafè's tend to be nice places with lots of light beaming in... Where as tea rooms tend to miserable dark places where old ladies go to discuss the latest travesties about garden centres and the latest gossip from neighbourhood watch! 'Oh, did you see Deidre's getting her shopping delivered now? Oh no, I haven't! I wouldn't touch it Valerie, it's witchcraft that stuff.' This is what two old ladies were conversing over. How depressing. I literally left wanting to slit my wrists. However... The tea room obviously understood that the younger generations do leave feeling suicidal... And have used a good marketing strategy in the form of a farm shop placed ever so conveniently at the exit! (Love a good farm shop) Whilst in the farm shop I bought a venison, chilli and chocolate sausage. I haven't consumed it yet... But I'm led to believe they taste rather smashing. On a lighter note, I like this picture!
