LAYER MARNEY TOWER

We had a late, lazy breakfast which made quite a change for us! After lunch we went to Layer Marney Tower (built around 1520). It is the tallest Tudor Gatehouse in England (visited by HenryV111 in 1522 and Elizabeth 1 in 1561)
We climbed up the tower and had fantastic views down to the Blackwater Estuary. We had a leisurely walk around the grounds and did a longer wildlife walk. We have had a very enjoyable day.
