Inside Out & Outside In

This is another new venture for me: an architecture-themed blip. I work in our state's capital, and this gold dome is the roof of our State House. The dome is covered with 48,000 pieces of gold leaf. Each piece of gold leaf cost $1.00 and was paid for with money raised by New Jersey schoolchildren.

I took the picture from the outside first, then went into the State House and took the picture of the interior of the dome. I think the colors are really pretty. The detail of the interior of the dome shows up rather nicely in the close-up view.
