What is a skitter?

When I googled the common synonyms for skitter it came up with the following: bound, flee, glance, leap , run and step.

Then again, if you look up the same word in common and slang language, it comes up with a very different description that is pretty widely recognised when adding the plural to the phrase "have a dose of"

In that context, I don't think the underwear offered in the sale looks up to the challenge!
