cup and saucer

Grew this from seed not knowing quite what it was! For ages it has had these weird little buds and then suddenly today, eureka! there is the flower.
It is an American native perennial and climbs to a great height in the season. Here is climbs but will not last the winter. I am glad that it has finally flowered, it is supposed to smell good but on the contrary........this one does not smell good. I have read that bats love it and pollenate the plants.
