Return to Oban
Return to Oban this evening after a day visiting some spectacular gardens in even more spectacular locations.
Arduaine, Ardmaddy castle and An Cala on Seil Island and we crossed Clachan bridge,
the famous bridge over the Atlantic.
All the gardens had impressive back stories but my favourite is An Cala, a five acre garden designed by Thomas Morton, the leading landscape designer in the 1930s. He was commissioned by the owner, who had married a well known actress who expressed an interest in " having a garden". It took six men working a whole year to lay the foundation and structure for this garden.
And the weather? 22C- incredible.
