Bistort

At last I have found the flash drives I saved a few days photos on when my laptop was away for repair. Today was one of 2 blank days in my journal. I will edit the other image shortly.

On Thursday evenings I drive past this roadside verge and, at this time of year, the bistort flowers in quite a large clump. It's a relation of the dock weed, but much nicer. I used to have the cultivated variety, Polygonum bistorta, in the garden. In the early 80s it was mentioned on every gardening program as THE plant to have.
