Those lazy hazy ....

Hazy, hazy, hazy days of summer. An odd August day in Edinburgh with lots of coastal fog. We could barely see buildings from out of the windows.

In May we often get the haar - a cold mist coming off the sea that hits the warmer land and creates a cool fog which can last for days. This was a muggy fog which tantalised with hints of clearing but then closed in again. Makes you feel sorry for the tourists -up to 600 on this vessel - who presumably have a day or so in Edinburgh. The centre of the city was apparently a bit clearer but the coast was constantly gloomy.

Today was a bit better in the office - only 12 hours at the desk with a 20 minute break for lunch at 4 pm. That's when I went out for a walk and 5 minutes away from the office I saw this vessel moored close to the Britannia.

She is "parked" or should I say "berthed" right by the roadside. Not on the scale of the Titanic - see last night's blip - but a significant size nonetheless. The record of her life since her launch in 1981 is varied with frequent changes in ownership and refits. I wonder what changes they made for the current owners with a customer profile of over 50?
