Fait Accompli
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines Fait Accompli as a thing accomplished and presumably irreversible. The challenge for today is satisfying. For me, finishing a project is satisfying, especially in the area of photography.
Here is a finished project - my first coffee table book, entitled "Those Magnificent Rockies". We have made many trips to and through the Rockies and they continue to wow me.
The project was a bit daunting and took many hours of selecting just the right photo, editing, and then placing them on the pages so they flow for the reader. I smiled when I looked up the definition and the last part is "presumably irreversible. When I finished the photo book and was ready to hit the "send" button for printing, I had this feeling of "irreversible". There is no further editing to be done, and if there are mistakes, they can not be corrected after printing.
I hit "send" and was pleased with it when I received the finished printed product. I do have the odd mistake, for example, I called the mule deer, white-tailed deer. But it's done - fait accompli! I may even try another one!
