Bacombe Woods

A walk with Ted in the woods this evening, I fancied a change and had time to jump in the car to visit the woods. These woods a mostly Beech and were lovely and cool tonight.

Friends of my Grandparents were gamekeepers on the Estate and used to live in the house whose boundary is the fence line in the picture. I remember the house with a big Aga and red tiles on the kitchen floor. George had several black Labradors all of who worked for him in the woods. I don't remember too much about the garden except the huge fruit cages but I brought this picture as it reminded me so much of the time we spent there.
