A bit bent..
Finally plucked up courage to try to fly again, wind still, an open field, grass about 40cm high, perfrct conditions. The first flight was a series of unwanted airobatics as I over responded and it was lucky it only ended in a heavy landing, Flight Nr 2 was a bit better, but I was still overcontrolling and my rights and lefts were confused, Flight 3 was much better smooth climbs, Motor off and glide back down Motor on and repeat, a rather messy landing but OK. Flights 4 and 5 were so much better, I got back in the rythem and trimmed the plane properly, got some good glides and climbs and the 5th landing was a real "Greaser" with the plane swishing through the long grass, great!
Then my grandson wanted to fly it, he can fly helis but I forgot that sticks are reversed for helis! Result? a near verical dive intoo terra Firma! With a normal wood model that would have been a total loss, but this foam job it is just glue it back together and add some gaffer tape reinforcements!Wonderful thing Progress!
