Clown Town
After a morning of the boys playing in Charlie's playroom, complete with new (to him) toys that Ollie has grown out of, and the girls dying Laura's hair a more even tone of Ginger (it looks gorgeous), we all headed to Clowntown.
Clowntown is apparently the largest indoor soft play in North London. Bizarrely, access is via the Tesco carpark just off the North Circular and even then you have to go round the back of some garages. Thankfully when we pulled up the giant circus curtains and carpark full of family cars reassured us enough to unlock our doors and brave going inside :)
It was a good size and had plenty for each one of our boys. Lewis' eyes lit up when he saw the place and Ollie was off before we could find a table. Charlie on the other hand had fallen asleep in his car seat so I carried him in, protesting when they tried to charge me £1.25 for his entry fee (they let me off). I know, I'm a cheap skate but the boys were £6 each and adults had to pay to enter too. It bugs me when companies exploit parents during the summer holidays. The place was packed.
Charlie had his first go in a ballpit and it was not a success. It was a deep ballpit (think: Simpsons) and I was trying to find the floor so he could sit up but balls just kept filling the space. He had a better time playing in the Jump n Groove station they had in the middle with all of the ride ons.
Once our two hour slot was up we decided to make the most of the sudden sunshine (and heat!) and head home to pick up Boo and go for a walk. We went to a nearby park where Charlie had another first: a go on a swing! He looked so cute but small in the baby swing. He found it hilarious though, he was giggling his head off.
I put the picnic blanket down on the grass next to the park and we camped out there while the boys played. Boo Boo was running around like crazy playing fetch with his rubber bone. It's so lovely to play with a dog who actually brings the bone back. Charlie loves being down on the blanket- though he soon commando crawls over to the grass to try and get as much into his mouth as possible before I see him and pull it all out. Ew!
The park is just down from the station so Robin came and joined us when he got off the train. Charlie's face lights up when he sees his daddy. It's lovely.
I can't believe Laura and the boys leave tomorrow. That's five days gone very quickly! We ended it on a high with a takeaway from my favourite Indian restaurant. Laura loved it, even if there wasn't as much to go round as Robin decided he does like Indian food afterall. Hmm!
