Well it took until August to get an amazing summer day, but it was worth the wait! My girlfriend and I spent the day at the lake. We had just put the boat in the water when we saw this loon acting strange. It kept rolling on its side to straighten the feathers on its underbelly. We thought it was funny so we circled it a couple times. Then it decided to give us a great flapping show! It did this two or three times. It was so gorgeous. Its too bad I can't show the whole progression. Unfortunately the quality of this photo is not ideal as I had to crop it quite a bit. We were trying to keep our distance as to not frighten the little guy! I can only hope there are more of these days to come!!
