Yosemite National Park
This morning we left San Francisco and headed for Yosemite. We didn't have much time there but the drive was stunning (another death-defying mountain road!) and we managed to do a bit of walking and the scenery was amazing. This is Bridalveil Falls, one of the few waterfalls there that still had any water coming down.
The news in California was dominated by all the wild fires that were raging and, unfortunately, much of what we saw on our trip, including homes and businesses, have now been turned to ash. Just can't imagine what it must be like there now and I have been touched and humbled by the pictures I've seen of the firefighters. Hopefully no-one will be hurt and they will get the fire under control very soon.
