Sad but True

The Cloisters, Durham Cathedral

The day started early with the farrier calling to shoe the ponies, meaning getting up to the livery Yard at 7.30am, not ideal for a weekend morning. That, coupled with the fact that I had somehow injured my back and had to keep counting to ten every time the pain shot across my shoulders, didn't help much either.

However, this afternoon the we had a girls trip to Durham, about half an hours drive away. The mission was to go clothes shopping but as my eldest daughters friend, Rachel, had never been to Durham before we ambled up to the cathedral afterwards. It is a fantastic place and this afternoon there was a service taking place with the choir singing , which further added to the atmosphere. The girls mentioned thet part of one Harry Potter movie was filmed there too. Coffee and cake finished us off.
