The Drinker

Hands up - that's what it says in my insect ID book!

Apparently a drinker because it sips dew. It is fairly common in grassy places although I haven't seen one before. Recognised by the two white spots on it's wing and diagonal line.

Discovered this morning sleeping on the window blind pole and it just looked like a leaf. Having got a few shots I thought the colour might be better outside so carefully carried it on the pole to a more photogenic location.

Celebrating three birthdays tonight so maybe this is a rather apt moth to flutter in!
