Fred Keenor

Fred captained Cardiff City on the only occasion they won the FA Cup, in 1927 when they beat Arsenal 1-0. His statue is outside the new Cardiff City football stadium which opened in 2009.

Cardiff City are nicknamed the Bluebirds, hence the colour of the stadium But since last year the team's home strip has been red, a rebranding brought about by the club's Malaysian owner.

Last season Cardiff City won promotion to the Premier Division. Tomorrow they will play their first Premiership home match, against Manchester City.
