A day at the Lakes

Drove down to Keswick, and then to the village of Portinscale where we had tea and a bacon sandwich in the local cafe (has moved a bit upmarket since we were last there, and very nice although a bit more expensive). Walked from there to Derwent Water and along a high path just under Cat Bells (didn't go up this time), and down to Brandelhow for lunch beside the lake. Then a nice walk out along the lake back to Portinscale and then Keswick.

My photo was taken at Brandelhow, and the legend on the plaque was

'ENTRUST.....

Celebrating 100 years of The National Trust caring for your countryside at Brandelhow

2002

FOR EVER FOR EVERYONE'

I rather liked it!!!

A dull but dry day until about 3pm when the sun shone for us.
