Stretch

Having been away earlier in the week, I had to get the shopping done this morning. Driving in, I noticed leaves beginning to tumble from the trees. On arrival, I zipped around as quickly as possible and it was relatively painless.

In the afternoon, I was working on catching butterflies in flight, but this time using my 100mm macro lens instead of the telephoto, which meant getting much closer. I managed to get some reasonable shots - the butterflies are starting to look a bit worn round the edges at the moment. One got blown down to the grass and really struggled to get back into the air. This, combined with the falling leaves from the morning, hints at the coming of Autumn.

While I was taking pictures of the butterflies, this robin came to have a chat. It sat on the back of the seat while I eased closer and closer until I was within about a metre. I was chatting quietly to it, and it was whistling quietly in its throat in reply. I got a lot of close ups and then it stretched its wing to give me the shot I've blipped.

Then it was a case of going through and deleting shots and keeping the good ones.
