Ladies preparing for a night out

We had an excellent excuse for a meal out tonight. My mother will be 80 next week and we can't join her for her big day so we had a wee celebratory meal tonight. It was a wonderful evening.

I recall joking with someone that living in a numerically dominated female household meant that I had learned to be ignored. 'Sorry' she said, ' what was that you said ... I thought I caught something interesting there on the telly.'
