Oxford Foodies Festival

We went to the Foodies Festival today at South Park in South Oxford. It was great to see and try lots of excellent food and drink. Although, we tried lots of samples, I certainly think that they got their money's worth out of us (except for a rather pushy fellow at the olive stand who stuck £15 worth of olives into a bag and tried to make me buy them. You can guess where he was told to stick the olives.....that's right, straight back into their containers!).

This is the cork from a bottle of wine (2005 Maetierra Dominum Gavanza, Rioja DOCa, Spain) that we bought that, worryingly, had a small amount of green mould on the top and was wet to breaking at the bottom half of the cork. However, the wine was satisfyingly enjoyable with our hoard of cured meats, and cheese that we brought home with us (I stopped at Sainsbugs for olives and managed to get some for considerably less than £15!).

I only took this image (well, a similar one) as evidence in case the wine was bad, but was rather pleased with how it turned out. I took quite a few shots today. It's funny sometimes where your Blips come from.
