Butterfly and insect sunday

The hot sunny weather has brought the garden alive and all the plants that we have deliberately planted to attract insects are doing a great job. It was tricky trying to choose my blip for today as I had so many lovely butterfly and insect shots to choose from. There were several gatekeepers on the thistles at one time, another of the huge hoverflies on the hemp agrimony and silver y moths feeding on the clover.

I chose this Gatekeeper in the end as I loved the light coming through the wings.
