Summer snowfall
Today is the last day of the holiday :(
Nobody feels like getting back to reality and the start of the new school year. We drive home tomorrow, a very long drive after a very early start - and we have to endure that ghastly food at those French petrol station stops along the way. (I will pack some food but cannot provide breakfast, lunch and supper)
After a warm 22C yesterday it started raining last night and when we woke up this morning and looked outside this is what we saw....a low mist over the mountain tops and snow had fallen during the night. The locals say that there is snow on the mountain tops every month of the year, including all the summer months.
Gavin and I popped off to a discount outlet shopping centre that is about 25 minutes away. A friend had recommended it and said it was worth looking around, so Gavin kindly offered to take me although he hates shopping. The best was the Lindt chocolate shop - you know those Lindor chocolate balls, well they had them in every colour imaginable, not just the red ones. I saw some new flavours of the chocolate slabs that I have not yet seen in England, like dark chocolate with Elderflower. We only bought a few slabs of their new ranges as quite frankly, everything else is available and cheaper in the supermarkets back home.
Now off to do the packing....
