Caldecote Lake
Awful weather first thing this morning so after a late start we decided to visit an outdoor shop in Milton Keynes for a mooch about. (Great shop, not good for the bank balance!) We loaded Ted in the car and on our way the rain disappeared and out came the sun! We stopped off at Caldecote Lake to give Ted a walk and here he is paddling!
Everyone turns their noses up at Milton Keynes but every time I visit their open spaces I am amazed at the varied wildlife, we saw all sorts of duck, we saw herons, green woodpecker, cormorants, gulls, geese (various breeds) and fish (not sure what they were). I am not sure I would want to live there but I think it has a lot going for it, it might be a new City and it did swallowed up quite a number of old villages but they still retain their village feeling and of course have the older buildings to contrast the new ones.
Finally got my new walking boots, had the money since Christmas and knew exactly what I wanted but just hadn't got round to it..........just kept getting wet feet with the old ones!!
