Bordering on a great day
I love this. Whenever this massive viaduct was built, the piers clearly had extensions put on from the start to put a little footbridge across. Why? Well I guess it allowed the people in the little villages of Roxburghe and Heiton (and those beyond) to cross the river without a previous massive detour.
Thought. Consideration. Did you know the new Forth Crossing doesn't have a path/cyclepath as part of the design. Just by the by.
Anyway. Nice 20 odd mile pootle in the Borders from Kelso, in the warmth of a surprising sun, made for a really really good day. Rounded off with an attempt at some crab risotto, with tea smoked scallops and mullet (well, actually sea bass in our case), which seemed to go well. And beer. Which may not be the best preparation for a big ride tomorrow, but what the hey.
