Portree, Isle of Skye

We decided upon a trip to the Isle of Skye. The sun shone brightly and we saw some absolutely stunning views. If you've never been then consider adding it to your itinerary! We travelled via Eilean Donan castle and the Skye bridge and spent the afternoon in Portree. The photo is of Portree harbour and looking out over the isle if Eigg (I think) to the mainland.

My big tip for travelling to Skye in August ... book accommodation! We spent about 90 mins or so searching for somewhere with a vacant room. We're pleased to have found one but it claims to be a three star hotel and I've stayed in better Travelodges for a quarter of the price.

Dunvegan tomorrow and perhaps a walk to Waternish where my gran lived in the 1930s depending upon the weather ... the forecast is not good!
