Fireworks

The best fireworks display of the year in Shrewsbury is not the fifth of November, but the weekend in early August when the Flower Show is on for two days, each concluding with a huge, elaborate and precisely choreographed firework display. It's worth turning out for, and many people do - filling up the bridges, bank side paths and anywhere else that offers a good view. I headed for the Welsh Bridge this year again, since it is very close to home and probably the best vantage point for combining a view of the fireworks and their reflections in the river, and it has a tripod-friendly parapet too.
