Heather
We walked up Causey Pike today. Amazingly for a Bank Holiday Monday in the lakes the weather was gorgeous. It was really hot walking up the steep path to the top.
The heather on the fells is gorgeous at present and in places the bracken has started to turn golden brown.
I always find it difficult to take pictures of heather but I rather like this picture. In the distance you can see the fells of Dale Head, Hindscarth and Robinson that we walked over yesterday. The air is a lot clearer today but there is still enough haze to give a nice recession to the hills.
This was taken with the Sony NEX-6 because 1) its much easier to carry up the hills and 2) It has a fully charged battery.
