I'll put a spell on you !

Well I suppose if you are going to have little creatures in the garden larger predators are sure to follow. This male sparrowhawk has been visiting the garden again. It left empty handed and apparently they only manage to capture one in 20 attempts and will often take carrion which is an easier option. They can, however, catch bats and not only small birds but birds almost the same size as themselves.

I do feel quite sorry for birds of prey as they are continually bombarded by the smaller birds and crows and ravens will take on buzzards and red kites. This sparrow hawk was being attacked by the swifts and swallows who were very vocal as well.

A beautiful Red kite flew over later and saw a few on the newly harvested fields.

The other night I watched two slugs following each other up the wall. This is the result quite something

Lovely day again although the wind has picked up abit blowing up the Glen. Still up in the 20's.

David had an interview at College. He starts a Graphic communication Course in the next couple of weeks.
