Carfest camping

Oh the joy of camping, surrounded by snoring hogs and wailing children, I think we managed a little sleep but crikey give me le mans any day. Energy restored with some coffee and a sausage/bacon sandwich we headed back into the festival.

Learning lessons from the night before we wandered about for a bit and then found a decent place in front of the main stage and set ourselves up for the afternoon. There were a lot of acts on including 'blurb' the UK's premier blur tribute band. Being a blur fan I was looking forward to this and was not that disappointed. They were pretty good but the guitarist kept playing things in a very lazy way (ie not properly) which was odd as I heard them sound check and he is a very good guitarist. Anyway they played the hits and got the audience going. Then Rockeoke, which was a proper live band with people singing terribly over the top, utterly fantastic I laughed until I cried. Then Reef, I seem to remember liking a song they did, another great guitarist though. More Rockeoke. Then Alfie Boe, who was applying his operatic style to popular song, he put on an excellent show, his band were excellent. Then a new band from Brighton called Rubylux, they were pretty good and then. Ocean Colour Scene, a band I quite liked, I even had a couple of CD's. Not a big fan though and apart from another ace guitarist there was nothing much there for me... Until.. Seasick Steve.. Utterly excellent.. I am a convert... The man is a genius, I'm off to remove half my guitar strings.

Then Keane, who we had waited all evening for and were really looking forward to seeing, however the children were knackered so we headed back to the tent. booo
