Ben Vorlich
It's 20 odd years (very odd) since I last climbed Stuc a Chroin from Ben Vorlich, and it proved as memorable.
The roadside verge at Ardvorlich on Loch Earn-side was busy when we arrived, and we joined the procession hill walkers climbing the eroded path to the summit of Ben Vorlich. The weather was warm, with a very light southerly breeze which did little to transpire the sweat dripping from my heid as I slogged to the trig point.
We continued south towards Stuc a Chroin and climbed the rocky prow, negotiating a few rocky steps on the way.
Later, after a refreshing paddle in Loch Earn, we found a sunny beer terrace in St Fillans for some bevvy. At £15 for 3 pints and a packet of crisps we won't be back soon, maybe in 20 years' time. (Four Seasons hotel).
